Sylacauga wreck leaves five injured, one dead
Five people were injured and one person was killed in an accident Friday evening in Talladega County, according to the Alabama Department of Public Safety's Highway Patrol Division.
The wreck occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. one mile west of Sylacauga on Sylacauga Fayettville Highway, according to an accident release form.
Robert Charles Pate of Sylacauga, 52, was injured and transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was driving a 1989 Oldsmobile Cierra.
Tisha E. Pate, a 42-year-old Sylacauga resident, was transported to the Coosa Valley Medical Center. Burnice Allen Morris of Jemison was also transported to Coosa Valley fortreatment.Christin Leigh Thrash died. She was 19-years-old. Two children were also taken to Coosa Valley for injuries. Their names have not been released.
All five people were travelling in a 2001 Toyota 4Runner. Trisha Pate was the driver.
