Long Neck, DE : One dead after vehicle drives into retention pond in Sussex County on Friday afternoon, January 20, 2017

Delaware State Police say one person is dead after a vehicle drove into a retention pond in Sussex County.

Police said in a statement that a vehicle drove into the pond near Bay Farm Road in Long Neck on Friday afternoon and one person is dead. Police say it’s not clear why the vehicle drove into the pond, but there were no other people were in the vehicle at the time.

Police say the collision reconstruction unit is investigating the crash.
