A 33-year-old woman was killed when she crashed her car into a pole on U.S. Highway 27 in Lake County Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Kara Sivik, of Davenport, was headed northbound near Bradshaw Road in Clermont at about 12:15 a.m. Friday when she lost control of her 2008 Chevy and left the roadway, FHP reported. The left side of her vehicle struck a pole. Sivik, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead on scene. The crash remains under investigation.
