ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO : Fatal crash involving wrong-way driver closes eastbound I-64 in Chesterfield on Saturday, 9th November 2024

A fatal crash Saturday night involving a wrong-way driver closed eastbound Interstate 64 in Chesterfield.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. just west of Route 141.

The crash involved a semi-truck, a Silverado pickup truck, a Toyota and a van. According to the crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a van driven by a 79-year-old man was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-64 in the right lane.

While traveling the wrong way, the van struck the front of the pickup truck, which in turn crashed into the Toyota and semi-truck.
