A woman was killed and two people injured, including a deputy, in a wrong-way crash Friday in west Harris County.
Liobardo Reyes, the driver of the vehicle traveling the wrong direction, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault on a public servant.
Authorities said Reyes was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Clay Road near North Eldridge Parkway about 3 a.m. when his Ford Fusion struck a marked squad car driven by Harris County sheriff's Deputy D. Johnson.
A female passenger in the Ford was killed. Reyes and Johnson were seriously injured and flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Texas Trauma Institute. Reyes was in critical condition. Johnson, a 13-year department veteran, has a broken leg and other injuries.
