LITTLETON, MA : Bicyclist killed in crash ID'd as Littleton woman on Saturday, 24th September 2016
The Middlesex District Attorney's Office has identified the bicyclist killed in a crash involving a car on Great Road Saturday night as Maryanne Casalinouva, 53, of Littleton.
Casalinouva was injured when the bicycle she was riding was struck by a vehicle in the area of 221 Great Road Saturday about 10 p.m., according to police.
She was taken to Emerson Hospital in Concord and then transferred to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, where she was pronounced dead, according to police.
Neither the district attorney's office nor police released the name of the driver involved, but both said that driver remained at the scene.
A preliminary investigation makes it appear Casalinouva was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to a press release from the district attorney's office.
The district attorney's office, Littleton police, and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council's Accident Investigation Team are all taking part in an ongoing investigation into the crash.
