TOWN OF EMMET, WI : 2 seriously hurt in ATV crash on County Highway M and Rhine Road in the town of Emmet on Saturday, 29th June 2019

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office was made aware of an ATV crash on County Highway M and Rhine Road in the town of Emmet on Saturday at 9:20 p.m.

Investigation shows that a 48-year-old male from Watertown was operating a 2003 Honda ATV with a 9-year-old male passenger from Rio.The operator lost control of the ATV in the intersection causing the ATV to roll and eject both the driver and the passenger. The operator suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Watertown Regional Medical Center. He was later transferred to Aurora Medical Center in Summit. The 9-year-old passenger suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was also taken to Watertown Hospital. He was later flown to American Family Children's Hospital in Madison.

This case remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Watertown paramedics, fire and police. It is believed that alcohol was a factor in this crash.
