Jacksonville ,FL : Fuel tanker crashes and catches fire, shuts down Interstate 95 on Saturday afternoon ,August 29th 2015
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — 10 p.m. UPDATE: All lanes of I-95 have been reopened.
7:45 p.m. UPDATE: The scene is still being cleared by emergency crews. The two right Northbound lanes of I-95 remain closed to drivers at this time.
5:16 p.m. UPDATE: One lane of I-95 Northbound is now open.
A fuel tanker overturned and caught fire on I-95 Saturday afternoon.
A semitruck hauling thousands of gallons of diesel fuel crashed into the concrete barrier in the far right lane of I-95 Northbound just north of Emerson Street.
The accident occurred just before 4 p.m.
The truck instantly caught fire and can be seen in the Action News Jax exclusive video sent in by a viewer on FOX30 Action News Jax at 10 p.m.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was able to put out the flames.
JFRD said the injuries sustained by the truck driver are not considered serious.
