WHEATLAND, CA : 73-year-old woman dies in 2-vehicle collision on Tuesday, 26th September 2023

A 73-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle collision this morning, the CHP said.

Around 6 a.m., CHP units were dispatched to a report of a collision on Highway 65 south of Oakley Lane, the CHP said.

Arriving CHP units said they determined the 73-year-old woman was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla northbound on Highway 65, south of Oakley Lane when for unknown reasons, she allowed her vehicle to travel over the solid, painted double yellow and into the southbound lane of Highway 65.

The CHP said the front of the Toyota collided with 2002 Ford Explorer which was being driven by 22-year-old Eleazar Perez-Reyez.

The impact caused fatal injuries to the driver of the Toyota, the CHP said.
