MERIDIAN, MS : 1 dead, 1 injured in crash at Star Road intersection on Friday, 29th March 2019

One woman died and another woman was taken to the hospital from a crash at Star and Joplin roads, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

A woman driving a car east on Joplin Road collided with a pickup going south on Star Road at 12:30 p.m. Friday, according to a tweet from the sheriff’s office. The impact made both vehicles go off the road and caused the pickup truck to flip over.The intersection is a two-way stop, where traffic on Star Road does not have to stop, according to the sheriff’s office.

Neither driver has been identified. The driver of the car was declared dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The driver of the pickup was taken to a local hospital.
