RapidCity, SD : A pedestrian who was hit and killed by a pickup truck on Wednesday, November, 17th 2017

A pedestrian who was hit and killed by a pickup truck while crossing Haines Avenue Wednesday afternoon has been identified.

Jason Loafer, 43, of Kyle, died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.

According to a news release, Loafer was crossing Haines Avenue near the intersection of Patton Street around 5 p.m. when he was hit by a GMC pickup traveling southbound on Haines.

Witnesses told police that Loafer ran into the roadway outside of the established crosswalk.
