Orlando, FL : 91-year-old woman killed and 85-year-old husband critical condition in two-car crash on Sunday December 13 2015

A 91-year-old woman was killed and her 85-year-old husband is in critical condition after a crash Monday afternoon on Colonial Drive, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.
The two-car crash happened at about 4 p.m. on Colonial Drive near Amber Road.
The woman, who was not been identified, was taken to Florida Hospital East, where she died, and three other people were taken to the hospital.
The crash caused backups in the area for several hours.
Troopers said the 85-year-old man was heading westbound on Colonial Drive and Joel Experanza, 27, of Winter Park, was heading eastbound.
The 85-year-old, who was driving a Mini Cooper, tried to make a U-turn at a median break near Amber Road and pulled in front of Esperanza’s Mitsubishi Lancer, reports said.
Troopers said Esperanza swerved to try to avoid the crash but still hit the right side of the Mini Cooper.
Esperanza suffered serious injuries, and his passenger, Richard Boyle, was hospitalized for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The married couple have not been identified by troopers.
