OVIEDO, FL : Hit-and-run that killed teen in Oviedo called suspicious on April, Saturday 15th 2017

A hit-and-run that killed a teenager in Oviedo on Saturday night is being investigated as a "crash with suspicious circumstances."The incident happened on Chinaberry Avenue near Geneva Drive. A teen, who is only being described by authorities as between the ages of 16 to 18, was hit by a van, according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

The male teen was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he died.

Deputies late Sunday said they have identified a person of interest who is not being called a suspect at this time. The person of interest knows the teen who died, investigators said.

The crash remains under investigation.
