A woman was killed and a man was critically injured after their car collided with a MTA bus Friday afternoon.
It happened on State Route 45 and Delaware Avenue in Madison around 3:30 p.m.
The bus collided with a 1997 Toyota sedan, ejecting two people in the vehicle.
Phyllis Robertson, 68, was killed and Michael Kinslow, 57, was critically injured.
Robertson was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she died.
Kinslow was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he is in critical condition.
According to a statement from Metro police, it is unclear who was driving the car at the time of the accident.
The bus was not carrying any passengers.
Video from the MTA bus showed the driver had a green light when the accident occurred.
The cause of the accident appears to be that the sedan failed to yield to the bus.
The driver of the bus was not injured in the crash.
Both Kinslow and Robertson were not wearing their seat belts.
