3-Year-Old Dies in Hospital After Daphne Crash in Alabama

Sacred Heart Children's Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., confirmed to WPMI Local 15 that 3-year-old Lathan Chaney who was injured in a car crash in Daphne has died.

The Press-Register reported that Chequita Grier, 47, of Daphne, died after a Toyota that was being driven by a 16-year-old girl crashed Friday into an Acura at U.S. 98 and Pickett Avenue, police said.

The crash happened after the 16-year-old girl lost control of the Toyota on U.S. 98 about 7:30 a.m.Grier's daughter and her daughter's 5-year-old daughter, in addition to the 3-year-boy, were in the car and taken to the Pensacola hospital.
