EAGLE-VAIL, CO : 23-year-old man is accused of fleeing the scene of a crash that left a skateboarder with severe injuries on Friday, 19th April 2019
Colorado State Patrol (CSP) has arrested a man accused of fleeing the scene of a crash that seriously injured a skateboarder in Eagle-Vail earlier this month.
According to a release from CSP, a 35-year-old man was riding his skateboard westbound on the shoulder of Highway 6 in Eagle-Vail at around 5:30 p.m. on April 19. Someone leaving the parking lot of Highway Country Healing, a marijuana dispensary, struck the man, severely injuring him, the release says. The driver left the scene of the crash.
That driver was identified by CSP on Saturday as 23-year-old Ethan Hatch of Vail. He's facing charges for failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury – a Class 4 felony, and failure to yield the right of way.
The victim was brought to Vail Health for treatment. He was there for several days before being released, according to CSP.
