A driver was taken to the hospital Monday after a head-on collision on Highway 99 south of Vina.

Briana Ramirez, 21, of Corning was turning southbound onto 99 from Rowles Road at 11:40 a.m. in her 1994 Infiniti sedan when she struck Donald Lee, 88, of Chico, driving 2008 Acura SUV heading northbound toward Los Molinos

The sedan spun out and landed off the road about 40 feet south of the initial collision site.

Ramirez was transported to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with a complaint of lower back pain.

Neither Lee nor his passenger was taken to the hospital.
