Sturbridge, MA : Holland teen killed Tuesday in motorcycle crash in Sturbridge on Tuesday, August 19, 2014
Sturbridge, Massachusetts
An accident Tuesday morning has claimed the life of a Holland teen who was driving a motorcycle along Leadmine Road before crashing the bike.
According to Sturbridge Police Lt. Mark G. Saloio, the 16-year-old boy had a valid permit to operate the motorcycle and was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which occurred at 8:30 a.m. near 508 Leadmine Road. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash and speed could have been a factor, according to Saloio.
When police and fire officials arrived at the scene they found Colin R. Krenzul, 16, of Holland, unresponsive, according to Saloio. Krenzul was treated by Sturbridge EMS at the scene and then taken to Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, where he later was pronounced dead.
Krenzul was a student at Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge.
The crash is being investigated by members of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Sturbridge Police Department, in conjunction with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Members of the Massachusetts State Police, Sturbridge Barracks, assisted on scene.
