MANATEE COUNTY, FL : Three injured in Manatee traffic accident on Tuesday, February 21st 2017
Three people were injured in a three-car accident on State Road 70 Tuesday, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
According to reports, Brenda Verzani, 48, of Arcadia was traveling west on S.R. 70, approaching the intersection with Betts Road, about 12 p.m. Apparently failing to notice that ahead of her Deannia Kerr, 37, of Sarasota, was stopped in traffic, Verzani ran into the rear of Kerr's pickup truck. The collision pushed Kerr's vehicle into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by a pickup truck driven Brian Baum, 56, of Arcadia. That collision drove Baum's truck into a ditch, where it then overturned.
Baum sustained critical injuries in the accident and was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Verzani suffered serious injuries and was taken to Lakewood Ranch Hospital.
Kerr suffered minor injures and also was taken to Lakewood Ranch Hospital.
Verzani was charged with careless driving.
