Three men were killed Friday night in a car crash that knocked out power to about 900 Ameren customers.

Police responded to the crash around 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of Shackelford Road and Kingsford Drive in unincorporated St. Louis County just north of Florissant.

A pickup truck was turning left onto Kingsford Drive from northbound Shackelford Road when it struck a car driving southbound on Shackelford, according to police.

The car's driver, Cameron Brown, 20, of the 15400 block of Jost Main Street in Florissant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two passengers of the car that was struck were transported to a hospital where they later died. They were Braxton Johnson-Price, 20, of the 800 block of Liberty Village Drive in unincorporated north St. Louis county, and William Nicks, 20, of the 11200 block of Parkmount Drive in Spanish Lake.

The pickup driver stayed on the scene and was cooperating, police say.

County police officer Benjamin Granda said one of the vehicles struck a utility pole during the accident. Ameren Missouri confirmed that at one point after the crash, 900 customers nearby were without power. By 9 a.m. Saturday, power was restored.

Ameren spokeswoman Brianne Vaught said a crew member who lived near where the crash happened was able to be on scene within 15 minutes. After police cleared the area, Ameren was able to replace the necessary equipment.
