2 Arizona corrections officers killed in motorcycle crash

Authorities say two Arizona Department of Corrections officers are dead after a motorcycle accident in the area of 99th Avenue and Buckeye Road.Maricopa County Sheriff's officials identified the victims as 35-year-old John Ollis and 30-year-old Skye Orozca. They say both worked at the Lewis state prison complex in Buckeye.Sheriff's officials say Ollis was driving a motorcycle with Orozca as a passenger Wednesday night.The motorcycle crashed into a tractor-trailer that was making a turn onto Buckeye Road from a private drive.MCSO's Lt. Brandon Jones stated, "Preliminary info is that a Semi truck was turning left into a distribution site when a motorcycle (occupied 2) clipped a part of the trailer, causing the motorcycle to loose control, eject the riders, and land in a ditch."Authorities say the two were then struck by three passing vehicles and their bodies were dragged for several hundred feet.Officials say Ollis was wearing a helmet, but Orozca wasn't.Sheriff's officials say it's too early to determine if any charges will be filed or citations issued in the fatal accident.
