MAYVILLE, NY : Falconer, NY, man cited in fatal Chautauqua County crash in Farrington Hollow Road in Cherry Creek, New York on Sunday, 12th August 2018

A Falconer, New York, man was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way in a Sunday night crash that killed a motorcyclist in Chautauqua County.

The crash happened on Farrington Hollow Road in Cherry Creek, New York, on Sunday at about 6:45 p.m. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, a motorcycle was traveling north on Farrington Hollow Road when it struck a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway. The motorcyclist, identified as 50-year-old Cherry Creek resident Paul W. Diaz, was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, where he later died, deputies reported.

The driver of the vehicle backing out of the driveway, 47-year-old Jassen E. Sherman, was cited for failure to yield the right of way when entering the roadway, investigators said.
