MARION COUNTY, FL : Arrest made after hit-and-run leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt in Marion County on Saturday, 2nd March 2024

An Ocala woman arrested in Silver Springs Shores is accused of driving a pickup truck into two pedestrians late Saturday — killing one and leaving the other with serious injuries — before leaving the scene of the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened around 10:56 p.m. on Spring Road in a dark area with no street lighting near Spring Place, troopers said.
