A Spencer man has died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at a Spencer intersection Sunday morning.

According to a news release from the Spencer Police Department, 53-year-old Jonathon Ihnen, of Spencer, was driving a motorcycle south on 11th Avenue SW when a Dodge Dakota driven by 59-year-old Linda Kunzmann, of Spencer, pulled into his path. The Dakota had been traveling eastbound on 13th Street SW. The vehicles collided at the intersection.

Ihnen was transported to Spencer Hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to the release.

Charges are pending in anticipation of a technical accident investigator’s report, the release said.

The Spencer Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Spencer Ambulance, Spencer Fire Department and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
