Fort Wayne,IN : 4 injured in 3-vehicle collision on Hillegas on April, Friday 27th 2018
Four people were injured, one critically, in a crash involving three vehicles that closed Hillegas Road for nearly 21/2 hours Friday, police said.
The crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. as the driver of a sport utility vehicle was traveling north on Hillegas.
The vehicle crossed the centerline and hit an oncoming southbound trailer being pulled by a pickup at Husted Street, just north of West State Boulevard, said Adam Griffith, Allen County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
He said the SUV then collided with a car that was following the pickup.
Besides the driver of the SUV, the driver and two passengers in the car were taken to a hospital in serious condition. The driver of the SUV was hospitalized in critical condition, Griffith said.
Hillegas, between West State Boulevard and Butler Road, was closed until 10:20 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
