Pendleton, OR : Five people who were injured in a four-vehicle crash on U.S. 11 on Thursday September 18th 2014
Oregon State Police identified the five people who were injured in a four-vehicle crash on Oregon 11 about 5 miles north of Pendleton on Thursday.
The crash occurred at about 7:20 a.m. when a northbound 2010 Buick Enclave traveled into the southbound lane and struck the left side of a 1997 Ford pickup truck. The impact caused the pickup to go off the highway and roll over, Oregon State Police said.
The Buick then continued northbound and collided almost head-on with a 2000 Honda Civic. The Buick then collided nearly head-on with another southbound car, a 2009 Mini Cooper, OSP said.
The Buick came to a rest on the Mini Cooper's hood.
The driver of the Buick, 51-year-old Kari Wilson of Helix, was taken to a hospital along with her 7-year-old passenger with minor injuries.
The Ford driver, 61-year-old Klause Hoehna of Weston, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The Honda driver, 24-year-old Henry Becerril of Milton-Freewater, was flown to Providence St. Mary Medical Center and then transferred to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland with serious injuries.
The Mini Cooper driver, 36-year-old Raul Marroquin Jr. of Walla Walla, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
All five were wearing seat belts.
OSP is continuing to investigate the crash. Oregon 11 was closed at the scene of the crash for more than four hours.
