JACKSONVILLE, FL : Van crashes into Eastside church on Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Leaders of an Eastside church said they are angry and upset after a car full of young men crashed into their sanctuary Wednesday afternoon before running off.

Pastor Ronnie Cohen of Bethesda Faith Assembly at Fourth and Spearing streets said he was doing work on a van outside when he heard the crash. He said he saw three young men running away from the minivan they wrecked.

The pastor said he was even more upset by what was left behind by the young men -- a gun.

"With that gun laying on that ground -- if those guys had gotten ahold of that gun, they could've shot everyone around here," Cohen said. "(The) first thing that came to the mind is, 'He's a witness and they could've shot.' Really, in the spirit, I had gotten a little discouraged."

Cohen said his church has been at the location for 27 years.
