Gilroy, CA : Motorcyclist dies in crash on Highway 152 near Watsonville Road on Sunday afternoon, July 3, 2016

A motorcycle passenger died Sunday afternoon after a crash with a black sedan on Highway 152 near Watsonville Road west of Gilroy, according to the California Highway Patrol, and another motorcyclist was seriously injured in a separate crash on the same highway.

The dead passenger, whose identity was not released, was transported to a local hospital but did not survive, the CHP reported.

The fatal crash was reported about 2:30 p.m. The driver of the car stopped and was cooperating with investigators, according to the CHP. No arrests were made.

Other details about the crash were not immediately available.

In a separate crash about 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Highway 152, a motorcycle collided with a truck near Mount Madonna County Park. The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital, the CHP reported.

The identity of the rider and other detailed information was not available Sunday evening.
