Tucson , AZ : Man accused of crashing car and Pima County deputies taken into custody While Fleeing on Saturday , January 17th 2015

Pima County authorities have taken a man into custody who is accused of abandoning his crashed vehicle.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office says a deputy saw a vehicle speeding southbound on Bear Canyon Road around 1:15 p.m. Saturday when the driver lost control.

According to the deputy, the car slid across the road and hit a bush before coming to rest.

Deputies say 26-year-old Michael Kopp allegedly fled the crashed vehicle. They say an extensive two-hour search was conducted for Koop, who was running through neighborhoods.

Koop was spotted after the search was initially called off and was arrested without incident.

He is being held in Pima County Adult Detention Center. He faces charges including driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, criminal damage and possession of drug paraphernalia.
