ELLICOTT CITY, MD : 3 adults and 2 students injured in Maryland school bus crash on Monday, October, 23rd 2017
Police have cited the driver of a school bus who lost control of the vehicle on a Maryland highway and crashed, leaving three adults and two high school students with minor injuries.
Howard County Police say 50-year-old Tyra India Wilcox of Halethorpe, Maryland, was speeding when she lost control of the bus just before 7 a.m. Monday as it pulled onto northbound U.S. 29 near Ellicott City. The bus flipped onto its side and was then hit by a car.
Wilcox, a school bus aide, and the driver of the car were taken to Howard County General Hospital with minor injuries.
Two 15-year-old Mount Hebron High School students who were on the bus were transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital as a precaution with minor injuries.
