Swisher County, TX : 1 dead, 1 hospitalized after Swisher County crash on Interstate 27 on Thursday, 1st November 2018

One person is dead and another remains hospitalized after a two-vehicle, head-on crash Thursday in Swisher County.

About 8:09 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety was called to the crash on Interstate 27 in Swisher County, said DPS Sgt. Cindy Barkley.

Carl Sjogren, 69 of Kress, was driving a 1994 Ford Range north on the west service road of I-27, approximately five miles north of Tulia.

The other driver, Marry Lawson, 57 of Tulia, was driving a 2009 Ford Fusion south on I-27 and was taking the exit onto the west service road, said Barkley.

Investigators believe Sjogren failed to yield right of way to Lawson and crashed head-on into the Ford Fusion.

Sjogren was pronounced dead at the scene.
