Coral Springs, FL : Three people dead in one-car crash in South Florida early Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Authorities say three people are dead following a one-vehicle crash on the Sawgrass Expressway in South Florida.

The crash happened early Wednesday in Coral Springs, which is a suburb of Fort Lauderdale.

Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Wysocky tells local media that the driver of a southbound car apparently lost control of the vehicle and drove into the grassy median before hitting a concrete barrier wall.

Wysocky says investigators are looking at speed and the weather as possible factors in the crash. Witnesses told troopers it was raining when the crash happened.

The road was closed for much of the night but has reopened.
