Phoenix, AZ : Two motor vehicle crash on Sunday October 12th 2014.

Two motor vehicle crashes caused backups and travel delays in the northbound lanes of Interstate-17 north of Phoenix Sunday afternoon. One crash initially blocked the left northbound lane of Interstate 17 just north of Anthem Way, the Arizona Department of Transportation said. That crash involved a vehicle fire, ADOT said. Just before 3 p.m., ADOT tweeted that an investigation into that crash was completed and all lanes are clear. A second crash just south of State Route 179 on northbound I-17 blocked the left two lanes. Arizona Department of Public Safety officers said no one was hurt in either crash.
