ALLENTOWN, PA : Driver in Carbon County police chase dies from injuries sustained in crash on Thursday, 6th June 2024

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office says the man who led troopers on a lengthy chase through Carbon County Thursday night has died from his injuries.

According to the coroner, 19-year-old Matthew E. Stepp, of Mahoning Township, crashed into a tree and sustained multiple traumatic injuries when he was ejected from the vehicle. The crash occurred in the area of Hazelwood Road and Laurel Lane in Towamensing Township around 6:35 p.m. Thursday, the coroner said.
