Delaware State Police are investigating after a crash late Tuesday morning on South Chapel Street (Del. 72) north at Old Baltimore Pike near Newark.
A 2013 Jeep Wrangler, operated by a 27-year-old Middletown man, was traveling north on South Chapel Street, just north of Old Baltimore Pike, with the right of way.
A 2007 Toyota Corolla, operated by a 63-year-old Newark man, was traveling south on South Chapel Street.
The Toyota then attempted to turn left into a Royal Farms and collided into the Jeep. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to the Christiana Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Jeep was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
