Pueblo, CO : 1 dies in single-vehicle crash in Otero County on Thursday, 27th October, 2016

A single-vehicle crash in Otero County has claimed one person, according to the Colorado State Patrol.The crash occurred at 1:50 p.m. today on Otero County Road KK, about a half-mile east of Otero County Road 30.

A 2014 Subaru Crosstrek was traveling west on Otero County Road KK when it drifted off the right side of the road, became airborne, traveled over a canal and collided with the dirt embankment. The Subaru then rolled one-half time, coming to rest on its top partially submerged in water, according to CSP trooper M.R. Tafoya.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Otero County coroner.

The identification of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
