GREEN COUNTY, WI : Two injured in Green Co. school bus crash near the intersection of 8th Street and Highway 69 on Tuesday, 28th May 2019

Eleven students were injured in a crash involving a school bus and three other vehicles in Green County on Tuesday afternoon.The Monroe Police Department said the crash happened near the intersection of 8th Street and Highway 69 just before 4 p.m. In addition to the school bus, the crash involved a van and two other vehicles.

Police said one five-year-old boy was transported in an ambulance while the other 10 students were transported in another school bus. All injuries were minor.

All 26 students on the bus at the time of the crash were checked out by crews on scene. The ages of the injured children ranged from five-years-old to 15-years-old.

Monroe Chief of Police Fred Kelley said that a van heading south bound turned left and collided with a school bus heading northbound. After the collision, the van proceeded to hit two additional vehicles.

Kelley said there were 26 students on the bus, and three were transported to Monroe Clinic Hospital for minor injuries. According to a press release, the driver of the van reported minor injuries but declined to be transported to the hospital.
