Montpelier,VT : Moira woman killed in Clark Street crash on Saturday, December, 16th 2017
A 28-year-old Moira woman died early Saturday morning as a result of a one-car crash on Clark Street in the town of Moira.
Firefighters and EMS personnel who responded to the crash at 2:38 a.m. found Jessica A. Snyder pinned under the car, state police said in a news release. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Franklin County Coroner Brian Langdon, who authorized the removal of the body and ordered an autopsy, troopers said.
State police said a preliminary investigation showed the car was traveling north on Clark Street when it went off the west side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. The road was covered with snow and ice at the time of the crash, they said.
A second occupant of the vehicle was transported to the University of Vermont Health Network-Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone and was released after being evaluated. A third occupant in the car was not injured, troopers said.
Authorities declined to release any additional information on the crash Sunday evening and said it remains under investigation.
However, the online state police blotter reported the arrest of Mario Aguirre, 33, of Moira, on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated in connection with an incident at the same time and same location as the fatal crash.
Aguirre was issued an appearance ticket.
