Lake Township, OH : A multiple-vehicle collision on southbound I-280 in Lake Township on Friday, 3rd August 2018

Two people were killed and at least four injured when a tractor-trailer crashed into traffic slowing for a work zone on southbound I-280 in Lake Township on Friday afternoon, shutting that side of the freeway down for hours.

The two fatalities in the 3:34 p.m. crash at the Walbridge Road interchange were in a Jeep Wrangler that caught fire after being struck directly by the tractor-trailer, said Lt. Angel Burgos, commander of the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Bowling Green post. Five other passenger vehicles and a tank truck were involved in an ensuing pile-up.
