Warrenton, VA : Three men injured in one-car wreck Sunday near Marshall on Sunday, 6th November 2016
A one-car wreck on Crest Hill Road near Marshall sent three men to area hospitals Sunday afternoon, including one who was flown via helicopter to Inova Fairfax for treatment, according to state police.
The crash occurred at 2:27 p.m. Nov. 6 when a Volkswagen sedan traveling west on Va. 647, just south of Va. 863, ran off the right side of the road, swerved back onto the pavement and then traveled across the oncoming lane, striking a utility pole on left side of the road, according to Sgt. Les Tyler, a public information officer with the Virginia State Police.
The vehicle struck the pole on the passenger’s side, Tyler said.
The driver, Jose G. Reyes Salmeron, 23, of Mount Ranier, Maryland, and the front-seat passenger, Henrry G. Garcia Alvarez, 22, of Washington, D.C., were taken to Winchester Medical Center for treatment, Tyler said.
A third man riding in the back seat, Barahallan O. Cruz Hernandez, 19, also of Maryland, was taken to Inova Fairfax via helicopter, Tyler said.
There was no further information available Monday about the men’s medical conditions.
Speed was thought to be a factor in the crash. Reyes Salmeron, the driver, has been charged with reckless driving in connection with the incident. The investigation into the wreck is ongoing, Tyler said.
