Omaha, NE : Passenger dies in 1-vehicle crash near Stanton on Saturday, 12th May 2018
A 23-year-old man was ticketed on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and motor vehicle homicide after a passenger died in a one-vehicle crash Saturday about 6 miles east of Stanton, Nebraska.
Hunter Hetzler, 22, of Stanton was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators from the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, Tucker Lanz of rural Stanton, was taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk in critical condition before being transferred to the Nebraska Medical Center.
Investigators said Lanz was driving a BMW east on Golf Course Road about 9:15 p.m. when the vehicle crossed into the north ditch and hit a power pole before rolling onto its top.
Hetzler was ejected and found pinned under the wreckage.
