Decatur, AL : A single-vehicle crash near Town Creek on Saturday, December, 9th 2017

A Leighton man died today in a single-vehicle crash near Town Creek, according to state troopers.

Charles Edwin Rowell, 43, was killed when the 1997 Chevrolet 1500 pickup he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The crash occurred at 6:50 p.m. on Alabama 101, troopers said, approximately 1½ miles north of Town Creek.

State troopers are investigating the crash.
