Knoxville, TN : Woman dies after being hit by car at Strawberry Plains on Friday, February 10, 2017

The woman who was hit by a car while crossing the street at Strawberry Plains Pike and Huckleberry Springs Road on Friday evening has died, police said Sunday.

Around 6:30 p.m., 65-year-old Nancy Donley of Illinois was struck by a Cadillac as she walked across the street with her husband, Knoxville Police Department Sgt. Shawn Shreve said. Donley's husband ran across the street while Donley walked, Shreve said.

Donley was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.

Shreve did not identify the driver of the Cadillac and only said the driver was a man.

Shreve said he was unsure if there are charges against the driver at this time.
