Edmond,OK : Person killed, 3 others injured in multivehicle crash in Edmond on January, Wednesday 24th 2018

One person is dead and three others are injured Wednesday night after a multivehicle crash occurred during rush hour near Interstate 35 in Edmond.

Shortly after 5 p.m., a gray vehicle headed west on Second Street near Air Depot Road veered into the eastbound lane and hit a truck head-on, police officials said. Another vehicle tried avoiding the crash, swerved and hit a fourth vehicle.

"There were three other people that were critically injured also," Edmond Fire Deputy Chief Chris Denton said. "One was medi-flighted to an area hospital. The other two took ground ambulances."

Police said the driver of the gray car died at the scene.

A fifth vehicle was damaged by debris, but the person in that car wasn't hurt.

Authorities have not released the names of any of the victims.
