Sturgis, MI : A 29-year-old man was killed on Thursday, August 3, 2017

A 29-year-old man was killed late Thursday when the motorcycle he was riding struck a semi-truck at the intersection of South Main and Broadway streets in Three Rivers.
Three Rivers police saw the motorcycle traveling at high speed on South Main near West Michigan Avenue, and the driver failed to yield for a traffic signal.
The motorcycle continued on South Main street. Police caught up to the bike at M-86 and South Main street and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver headed north on 8th street and did not stop at the Broadway Street intersection, police said.
The driver turned back toward South Main Street, running a red light. The motorcycle then struck the semi.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the truck has been identified as Jeffrey Leonard, 52, of Indianapolis.
The crash is being investigated by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.
