Palm Bay teen killed in motorcycle crash on Florida

The Florida Highway Patrol said a Palm Bay teenager was killed Saturday night when he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a vehicle in I-95 in Brevard County.
Troopers said Douglas J. Peters, 19, was traveling at an extreme high rate of speed on I-95 South in the left lane and for an unknown reason failed to avoid a car driven by Ramiro Acosta, 67, of Stuart. FHP said the motorcycle struck the rear of the car and then traveled across the southbound lanes to the shoulder area of the highway.
Peters was pronounced dead at the scene.
Acosta and a passenger in his car were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
