A 46-year-old Boonville woman was injured Wednesday when the car she was riding in went off Highway 40 near the Boone-Howard County line and hit a tree.
Noreen Letusky, 66, of Boonville was driving a 1995 Honda Accord eastbound on Highway 40 just east of the Howard County line at 10:05 a.m. when the car went off the right side of the highway, re-entered the roadway and crossed the centerline, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The car then overcorrected, went off the right side of the highway and struck a tree, the report said.
Passenger Christine M. Estill suffered moderate injuries and was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia. Both women were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, the report said. The car was totaled, according to the report.
