An 18-month-old girl died Thursday after a pickup truck hit her at a Burke County campground.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said it happened just before 11 a.m. at the Steel Creek Park & Family Campground northwest of Morganton. The driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado was trying to pull around a building when the girl walked in front of the truck.
