GLASTONBURY, CT : Enfield man dies in Route 2 crash in Glastonbury on Saturday, 7th September 2019

An Enfield man died Saturday when the sport utility vehicle he was driving smashed into a guardrail and trees off Route 2, state police said.

The man, Gregory Lamourine Jr., 38, of 285 Shaker Road, who was wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police from the Troop H barracks in Hartford.The accident happened around 7 a.m. when Lamourine was driving east on Route 2 just before Exit 12, state police said. At that point Lamourine lost control of the SUV, which veered into the left shoulder area, striking a metal guardrail before careening across the roadway and smashing into trees along the right shoulder, state police said.

Lamourine was the sole occupant of the SUV, state police said.
