Bradenton, FL : Fatal pedestrian crash in Bradenton early Saturday on July 5, 2014

A 55-year-old Bradenton man was killed early Saturday after he was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross US 41 in Manatee County.

The incident occurred just after midnight at the intersection of 55th Ave. West. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Gregory George, a 30-year-old Bradenton resident, was traveling north on 41 in the outside lane approaching the intersection. The pedestrian was walking east and attempted to cross from the west shoulder of the roadway.

He did not have the right of way and was hit by George’s 2007 Chevrolet HHR. George was not injured in the collision. The name of the deceases is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
